Very Good

Grand Hyatt Seoul is old, but has been one of the best hotels in Korea for a very long time. It has everything you can get from a top hotel including various restaurants, bars, ice skating rink, outdoor/indoor swimming pool, with a great view of either Namsan or Seoul.

For this reason, there are now too many Korean families coming over for staycation. It could be crowded. In addition, the rooms are nice, cozy, and clean, but not very new. But overall I’m happy with the room condition.

Family room in Seoul

This was the only hotel we found that allowed us to stay in one room with our kids rather than having to book two separate rooms. The beds were comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and shower had good pressure.

As there were no vegan options available we had to find alternative places outside to eat which was frustrating as the location is quite a trek from any of the metro stops and most places open after 11. It was also very expensive to hire the skates for the ice rink - if you were paying to stay at the hotel it should really have been included. If you choose to stay take your own swim cap and gloves as they are mandatory to use the pool and ice rink.

An unpleasant check in fully mitigated by outstanding service recovery.

It is a huge, beautiful and facility rich property.

I arrived at 11 am from a red eye flight. Can totally understand and respect the check in time of 3 pm. However, even at 4 pm, I was told the hotel is full and coz earlier guests checked out late, I had to wait another hour. To me, this is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel for not honouring its commitment to guests. That said, this unpleasant experience was eradicated by the outstanding and prompt action of Ms Jasmine Park who after hearing the issue from me, immediately gave me an upgraded room. I was not prepared to accept an upgrade because the purpose of my feedback was for the hotel to improve and not to be upgraded. Nonetheless, Jasmine was really empathetic and insisted I have the upgraded room so I can be checked in immediately. This to be is the epitome of outstanding service which fully mitigated the unpleasant check in experience.

A very nice place to stay for business or leisure. Some efforts are to be made to remain at the top.

An old school, classy hotel reminding of the luxury of past eras, which place benefits from an exceptional location. The oversized lobby is impressive, and the lounge bar offers a fantastic view over the river and the city down the hill through 10-meter high floor-to-ceiling windows. It is an island of comfort and an ideal place to steam off after a busy day, before enjoying a fine dining experience at one of the nice restaurants that can be found within the facilities. Overall, the staff is competent and attentive, and the venues are very clean.

The elevators are crowded day and night (another set of lifts would be beneficial to discharge the principal), sound proofness of the rooms is not top-notch even in the upper category, and the breakfast that is served in the second dining room (actually, the lounge bar, which is converted on Sundays morning) is different (lesser) from the one served in the main dining room, even though it is boasted as being exactly same by the staff in charge of dispatching customers. When it was pointed out to the staff, they admitted and made excuses, but it can be resented as some form of dishonesty, especially from regular customers' viewpoint and in regards of the rather high ticket demanded.

The washrooms are old and dont have bidet in all floors. the washrooms and the rooms in general need to be updated. The room cleaning services need to be more effective

What was the highlight of Grand Hyatt Seoul

A room with a view (and a front parking with some amazing cars)

Have been here many times before but this was the first time where we got a 'corner' room. Excellent view on Namsan, especially nice in late-October when foliage is turning red. The aim of the stay was to have time for a nice walk up the hill/mountain. Bonus now that COVID is almost 'gone', the neighborhood has so many nice places for lunch/dinner. And for car lovers: the front parking is like a car exhibition venue...every time we come here there is a collection of new surprises, this time including a Bugatti Divo. With only 40 of these existing on this planet, it's not something you would expect to be parked casually in front of a Seoul city hotel. But it does speak for the quality of place I guess.

Not a complaint (because we have been here before) but one should be aware that there is no direct connection between the hotel and the parking lot. Not a problem if you now it, but still a bit of a hassle when you have several suitcases. And not a problem when you drive a Bugatti :-)

Good

good views and modernized room amenities, and very clean. but rooms are small in size. Staff was very good. Had 3 tennis courts and a good pro for lessons or someone to hit with. Overall setting of Hotel and amenities are excellent.

Hotel is too busy for my stay, had to wait for elevators several times in line with over guest for several minutes. It is somewhat isolated away from any shops and restaurants. but nice setting.

the best view of Seoul- you never want to leave the hotel!

it is a very established old hotel in the best location in Seoul. the rooms are modern and spacious with the best view of the city - day and night.

you need to pay extra to use the pool and only get a 4 hour slot - tedious and annoying with a family.

Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends

Worth going to just for the spectacular view from your bedroom - .especially if you face the Riverside. Hotel is busy but there are so many staff that you rarely have to wait long. Great breakfast, squash court, outdoor/indoor pools. Very clean and modern fittings. Location is also good for Itaewon that is a busy bustling centre with many restaurants and bars ... but expect to walk up steep climb on return to hotel. Also bus stops outside hotel make it easy and cheap to access other main attractions in either direction.

Prices are high and then they add on taxes etc.

I felt special during my entire stay at the Grand Hyatt.

From the moment I entered the hotel, up until the moment I left, my expectations were constantly being met. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, and the facilities were very clean and well maintained. The view from my room was breathtaking. My favourite part of the night was having my dinner in front of my window and watching the sun set over Seoul.
